Artist's
Statement
Flashes
of beauty momentarily pass before our eyes and then fade
away. The car we are riding in turns a corner and the sunlight changes.
Contrast and extraordinary images are fleeting.
We do not always have the time to notice and enjoy them but
inconsistencies and the amazing are the spice of our daily life.
I endeavor to notice and capture some of these moments
then interpret them into my watercolor paintings.
My work is non-fiction. I believe studying what appears to be real
is so much more complex than anything made up.
My subjects are landscapes, children, still life, animals, flowers,
anything showing interesting light and contrast.
